Choosing Your New Roof
We install three main types of roofs on West County homes:
- Architectural shingles: the best balance of looks, durability and price for most homes, with impact-resistant options for hail.
- Designer shingles: the look of slate or cedar shake for homes where curb appeal matters most.
- Stone coated steel: built to resist hail and wind and last decades longer than asphalt.
We'll bring samples, explain the differences in plain language, and give you pricing for each option so you can decide what fits your home and budget.

Replacing because of hail? If your roof was damaged in a storm, insurance may cover much of the cost. See our insurance claim help page.
Repair or Replace?
Not every roof problem means a new roof. If your roof is relatively young and the damage is limited, a repair may be the right call, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Common Questions
How do I know if I need a new roof?
Common signs are shingles that are curling, cracking or losing granules, repeated leaks, a roof that's 20 or more years old, sagging areas, or hail damage across the roof. A free inspection will tell you whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take one to two days. Larger or steeper roofs, designer shingles and stone coated steel can take longer.
Do I need to be home during the replacement?
No, but we'll walk you through the plan beforehand and check in when the job is finished. We'll ask you to move cars from the driveway and to take fragile items off walls, since vibration from the work can shake them.
Can a new roof go over my old one?
We recommend a full tear-off. It lets us inspect and repair the decking, install proper underlayment and flashing, and avoid adding weight. Many shingle manufacturers also require a tear-off for their best warranties.
